External Control: TCP/IP, MIDI, Art-Net (DMX-512) and timecode

Inputs and outputs act as gateways between WATCHOUT and external devices. Using industry-standard protocols, such as Art-Net (DMX512), MIDI, TCP/IP and serial data communication, you have the flexibility to integrate WATCHOUT in any presentation environment.  

WATCHOUT also supports synchronization of the main timeline by an external timecode signal. 

With WATCHOUT 6.2, DMX512 support is further enhanced to include multiple DMX universes, allowing individual inputs and outputs to specify which universe they will use. Additionally, WATCHOUT supports 16-bit and 24-bit DMX input and output.

INPUTS 

External signals can be used to control and influence the behavior of WATCHOUT, starting and stopping timelines and managing various cue parameters. You can control WATCHOUT through the following protocols:

• Ethernet (TCP/IP, UDP/IP)
• Serial communication (RS232)
• MIDI (MSC, Controller, Note On/Off)
• Art-Net (DMX512)
• Timecode (LTC EBU/SMPTE)

OUTPUTS 

You can control external devices from cues on the WATCHOUT timeline. WATCHOUT can interact with external devices using three well-known approaches:

• Serial communication (RS232)
