Roman bridge mapped for contemporary circus

The first-century Roman bridge in Chaves, Portugal, was both the dramatic backdrop and key player in the Moura multimedia show. The event brought together scenic arts, music, light design, fireworks, and contemporary circus in a community project, teaching video mapping, theater, dance and prop-building to local talents.

Moura was led by the Grandpa's Lab team, with designers, artists, photographers and choreographers taking up a two-week residency next to the stone bridge in order to achieve the stunning mix of contemporary circus and mapping.

The impactful bridge projections, with visuals created by Grandpa's Lab, were achieved using Dataton's WATCHOUT mapping software and Panasonic projectors on a floating platform.
